Enter and View: Geriatric Medicine Dept Ward A8, New Cross Hospital
Our report following a visit to the Geriatric Medicine Department Ward A8, New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.
This was an announced follow up Enter and View visit which was conducted in response to a complaint received by Healthwatch Wolverhampton. Healthwatch Wolverhampton carried out an initial unannounced Enter & View visit
during November 2016 due to receiving concerns in respect to services received within the ward, these were around staffing levels, the communication and treatment of patients, so this was an opportunity to revisit.
Summary of Findings
- Discussions with the Matron and Senior Sister highlighted they had implemented the previous improvements suggested and are keen to continue.
- The reception area is to have a seating area for relatives and visitors.
- Sufficient notices are displayed on the doors to the bays. A range of leaflets are available for access.
