Enter and View: Thornley Street Practice
Our report following a visit to Thornley Street Practice in Wolverhampton, where a number of multi-disciplinary clinicians offer appointments.
This was an announced Enter and View visit which was conducted at Thornley Street Practice due to patient experiences Healthwatch Wolverhampton had received in relation to accessing appointments and the CQC report which was completed in 2018 where the surgery was rated as 'good'.
Summary of Findings
The Authorised Representatives made a number of recommendations arising from the visit, which included:
- Site access, such as - CCTV, delineate front doorstep, magnetic stop on the front door to enable wheelchair users and pushchairs to enter and leave more easily.
- Re-arrange seating around the entrance to allow more space for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
- Antibacterial hand gel near reception
- Reduce number of leaflets and information on the walls, and update the PPG noticeboard.
- Mount the Prescription box on wall to free up space on Reception desk.
- Dementia Friend awareness sessions for PPG members and staff.
